EntreNous Youth Empowerment Services Inc. is a Compton-based nonprofit organization founded in 2012 that provides a safe space built on respect, care, and compassion for young people to grow in.
They provide educational and occupational services to opportunity youth (ages 16-29) to help them create a sustainable future for themselves, their families, and communities.
In 2023, EntreNous sought a brand guide to solidify their brand communication and identity for future marketing materials.
A logo was already created at the time, as well as existing marketing materials, but there was no brand guide to solidify the brand elements and features. I was tasked to help the organization develop the brand guide.




Challenges
Four distinct programs—Compton YouthBuild, Project Hearts, CSI:STOP, Impactful Bites, and Constructing Success Academy—within the EntreNous umbrella required a cohesive branding strategy. While each program may have unique elements, maintaining a consistent visual identity is crucial.
To achieve this, I ensured that the primary color reflected EntreNous's core value, while the secondary colors represented each program's unique focus. Typography was also standardized across the brand, further strengthening its integrity.
I also suggested that the client add an imagery section to improve brand integrity further. This is important because imagery is pivotal in conveying the organization's message and connecting with its audience. The section included Positive Representation, Diversity and Inclusion, and quality standards for imagery.







Accomplishments
By taking on this project, I was able to assist EntreNous in strengthening their brand identity and communication, which solidified their connection with their sub-brands and main brand as well.
Furthermore, strengthening their branding allowed the organization to build more connections with its affiliates and gave the fund a boost in growth at the end of 2023 and into 2024.

It gave me the chance to work on a brand guide with the logo already established. This meant that, for the most part, I had to lay out content to create the book. The experience also heightened the importance of communication between the designer and the client, as I could add a few extra sections, such as photography and brand elements. Communication is key as it helps to strengthen the brand voice and identity.
